Here come the girls! Irina Shayk hands over the reins to Sports Illustrated cover girl Kate Upton

 

She may have been only lending a hand to help celebrate the new Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue model, but last year's cover girl Irina Shayk ensured she also enjoyed her share of the spotlight.
The Russian beauty strutted through the streets of New York in a tight orange dress that showed off her stunning curves.
Irina, 26, posed outside The Late Show with David Letterman, where the Sports Illustrated models gathered to unveil Kate Upton, 19, as this year's cover star.

Cristiano Ronaldo's girlfriend teamed her bright frock with maroon platform heels and a black fur coat.
She added jaw-dropping emerald earrings and a red cocktail ring to complete the colourful outfit.
Irina sizzled on the cover of last year's coveted swimsuit issue, but had handed over the crown to Miss Upton, whose cover was unveiled on an enormous billboard in Times Square.

She was joined by a host of fellow Sports Illustrated beauties including Alyssa Miller, Izabel Goulart, Meredith Ariel and Jessica Gomes.
Speaking to the NY Post, Irina dished out some advice for women celebrating Valentine's Day.
The confident model said: 'Look beautiful. It’s such a sexy holiday, you should wear something red like a dress or cute lingerie or nail polish or lipstick.
'You just have to be yourself to flirt and be beautiful and sexy. You don’t need to have long legs and big lips and beautiful hair and makeup. Just be a normal person.'

Miss Shayk even had some pearls of wisdom for those going solo on V-Day. 'Even if you don’t have a Valentine I think you should spend the day with someone you love,' she told the paper. 'Spend it with your best friends maybe.'
She may not be near her own footballer beau for the big day, but Irina hinted at what he could do to make her day special.
She revealed: 'I love when men invite me to go to restaurants. I don’t cook. I never cook. I think I’m kind of dangerous in the kitchen. I can kind of poison someone.'
