Lost in Jamaica: Scarlett Johansson heads on holiday to escape divorce drama

A day after announcing the end of her two-year marriage to Ryan Reynolds, a tense-looking  was spotted in Jamaica on Thursday with a group of friends.
The 26-year-old allegedly initiated the split from Ryan, 34, after the stress of being apart all the time became too much for her to take.
And now it looks as if she is escaping the divorce drama by laying low on the Caribbean island to regroup and and get some support from her pals.

Wearing a white fedora, blue shorts and a grey tank top over a yellow bikini, the actress looked sombre and subdued as she carried a copy of Vanity Fair with Johnny Depp on the cover.

 

Scarlett and Ryan released a statement on Wednesday saying: 'After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage.
'We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated.'

The couple got engaged in May 2008 and were married in an intimate ceremony in Vancouver, Canada, that September.
But they soon found that their busy work schedule became more and more of an issue, and until finally the marriage broke down completely.
'Scarlett has been unhappy for a while and wanted the separation,' a source told Us magazine.
And although Ryan tried to mend the damage, they both recently accepted the relationship was over.
At first it was ... let's fix this,' a source tells People magazine. 'And then it got to the point where it was just, if it's not working, it's not working. He's an adult, and he finally just said they should stop.
'They're doing it this way because there's no drama, there's no cheating, there's no nothing. These are just two people who love each other who are not going to be together anymore.'

The age difference between the couple may also have played into the relationship breaking down.
'She's young, and that played into how she's able to deal with things,' the source says.
Four days before the split was publically announced, a witness spotted the actress storming angrily into the Manhattan apartment building she shares with Ryan.
'She was screaming into her phone, referring to someone as a "jerk." She looked really p****d off,' a source says.
Another source claims that Ryan will let Scarlett be the one who files for divorce first.
'Ultimately, this is the best thing to keep both of them happy and healthy in the long run. But yeah, he's sad. They both are.'
