It was an ultra-posh occasion, so she thought it best to wear gloves.
But since the day promised to be ultra-hot as well, Kelly Brook decided to leave something else bare.
The model-turned-actress was displaying a serious expanse of thigh at the Cartier International Polo yesterday.

Burlesque star Dita Von Teese, 35, stood out in a peach plunging gown which showed off her startling white skin.

In the Cartier tent, much of the three-course meal prepared by celebrity chef Anton Mosimann went untouched as the air conditioning broke down.

Many of the celebrities had sought shelter in the marquee, missing out on the polo - and on the streakers.

Two fled back into the stand but the other sidestepped chasing stewards and hurdled two metal barriers to escape.

Double digit growth for Burberry in Europe and Asia offset by difficulties in U.S.

Harry Potter actress  has cast her spell on Burberry sales in the UK since featuring in an ad campaign for the fashion house.
It posted an 'exceptional' performance in Britain, with sales at stores including key outlets in Regent Street and Knightsbridge up 12per cent in the past three months.
But growth in Europe and Asia was offset by weakness in other markets.

Burberry said customers had responded well to its Spring/Summer ranges, particularly mens tailoring, denim, sport and childrenswear.

 

The firm added: 'Europe and Asia both delivered double-digit percentage growth, with exceptional performances again in the UK and Korea (both helped by favourable currency movements).'
Meanwhile Burberry's wholesale business saw sales drop 28per cent as customers face the recession by slashing the amount of stock held, while Burberry is also restructuring its wholesale division and closing some operations.
Angela Ahrendts, the retailer's chief executive, said: 'Burberry has made a solid start to the year in what remains a challenging environment.'
Burberry plans to add between 10 and 15 stores to its portfolio this year.
A new American headquarters and showrooms were opened on Madison Avenue in New York during the quarter, as well as three franchise stores in emerging markets, including the first Burberry store in Bahrain.
The firm said as of the end of June it had 118 retail stores, 253 concessions and 84 franchise outlets in over 25 countries.
Burberry said its cost cutting initiatives were delivering the expected results.
Steps taken by Burberry to tackle the global slowdown have included a £50million inventory reduction and a £50million efficiency programme.
The company endured a 13per cent fall in underlying profits last year, despite annual revenues topping more than £1billion for the first time.
The firm shed around 15per cent of its workforce in the last financial year.
In January, Burberry announced 170 jobs were going as a result of its plan to close a sewing facility at Rotherham, south Yorkshire.

 

 

The next Emma Watson? Atonement star Saoirse Ronan is all grown-up at The Way Back premiere

Now that is leaving her Harry Potter day behind her, there is an opening in the market for a young British actress set to take Hollywood by storm.
And it seems Saoirse Ronan could be just the girl.
The 16-year-old actress, who first rose to fame when she appeared alongside Keira Knightley in 2007's Atonement, was all grown-up last night as she attended the premiere of her new movie The Way Back alongside Colin Farrell and Ed Harris.

Wearing a chic black and white lace dress, with opaque tights and heels, Saoirse looked worlds away from the innocent little girl in the long white dress and flat pumps at the Atonement London premiere.
After her role in Atonement, for which she was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar, Saoirse also appeared in Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones, an adaptation of Alice Sebold's novel.
And Saoirse is already being tipped for an Oscar for her role in The Way Back, which tells the story of soldiers who escaped from a Siberian gulag in 1940, and is based on Slawomir Rawicz's memoir The Long Walk.

She can soon be seen in Hanna, alongside Cate Blanchett and Eric Bana, and is rumoured to have won a part in the highly-anticipated The Hobbit: Part 1, also directed by Peter Jackson.
But it was her role in Joe Wright's Atonement that led Saoirse to know 100 per cent that she was meant to be an actress.
She said in a recent interview: 'When I got to the stage of Atonement,  it really tested and challenged me. I was working with some really top-class people.

'And Joe is a really great director. From that point onward I thought, "Maybe this should be my job. I know I can’t give it up now." I felt that passionate about it. I couldn’t imagine leaving it.'
And as well as impressing film critics, Saoirse has also left an impression on her castmates, including Ed Harris, with whom she stars in The Way Back.
He said: 'She was so present in a cool way and really mysterious. I loved working with her. She was just 16 when we made it, I think, a little bit older than my daughter. She had a wonderful work ethic, really friendly, always in good spirits, charming, pretty.
'I felt a little bit protective of her, though she didn’t really need that. We had a really nice thing. I loved just being totally simple and honest with her. She’s living and breathing in the moment and you’re able to just experience that with her.'
The Way Back is released in the UK on December 26th.

She may have been coy about rumours of a romance with rocker Johnny Borrell, but it seems is not being so secretive about the new man in her life.
The 17-year-old Harry Potter star was kissing a handsome blond at the after-party of the Empire film awards last night - and the couple left very little to the imagination about how they felt about each other.
The pair were clearly oblivious to the fact that onlookers were watching their every move at the Carbon Club in Marble Arch.

The earlier ceremony, held at Park Lane's Grosvenor House Hotel last night, atoned for last month's Oscar snub to Atonement as the Brit film scooped the top gongs, Best British Film, Best Actress (Keira Knightley) and Best Actor (James McAvoy).
Best Film went to Hollywood blockbuster The Bourne Ultimatum and was picked up by the film's director Paul Greengrass and its star, Matt Damon.

The couple have just announced they are expecting another child.
Damon, who is on a break from filming the CIA thriller Green Zone in Morocco, suggested there could be a fourth film in the Bourne franchise.
"I keep trying to kill him off but every time I get voted down," he said.

McAvoy spent the evening dodging between the Empire ceremony and the Olivier Awards, where his partner Anne-Marie Duff was nominated for best actress for her performance in Joan Of Arc.
The Empire award for Best Newcomer went to Sam Riley, for his portrayal of Ian Curtis in the Joy Division biopic Control.
The film also triumphed in the best soundtrack category.

’s romance with actor Johnny Simmons is on the rocks after he refused to follow her to England.
The 21-year-old Harry Potter starlet has been dating Johnny since they met on the set of forthcoming film The Perks Of Being A Wallflower in June.
The pair enjoyed a romantic break in New York together in September, and in the same month I revealed Emma had begged LA-based Johnny, 24, to come to England, where she has just enrolled at Oxford University.

But their future is now less certain after he refused to move.
‘Emma has been telling people that the relationship is complicated,’ says a source.
‘Johnny has been very distant with her and she’s worried that it’s because he’s overwhelmed by her fame. They’ve not seen each other in a while and they’ve barely spoken. She has invited him to come to Oxford, but he has not accepted the offer yet.
‘She doesn’t want things to be awkward when they reunite to promote the film, but she’s worried the relationship is over before it even began.’
Emma plans to spend a year studying English at Oxford before completing her degree at America’s Brown University.

Emma Watson skates into the Christmas spirit as ice rink opens but Tania Bryer takes tumble and breaks wrist

got into the Christmas spirit by hitting the ice at Somerset House - but not as hard as former telly favourite Tania Bryer.
While 18-year-old Watson cut a stunning figure as she glided around in the forecourt of the 18th century building, former Sky News weather presenter Bryer took a tumble and was rushed to hospital via ambulance with a fractured wrist.
The celebs had gathered for the switching on of the Tiffany Christmas tree next to the seasonal skating rink in central London.

Harry Potter star switched the lights on before Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean performed a routine for the audience.
Watson said: 'I'm thinking about skating, but Torvill and Dean will be a hard act to follow and it depends how brave I'm feeling.'

She clearly had plucked up the courage later, tentatively stepping out and then gliding around with the likes of Kate Middleton's sister Pippa and actor Robert Lindsay.
Watson turned up to the Tiffany and Co. Skate at Somerset House event trussed up in a ruby scarf, complete with a flowing black coat and disco-style dress.

And she was wearing some very pricey Tiffany and Co. jewellery, including a £61,500 platinum diamond Victoria Bracelet and £23,400 platinum diamond earrings.

The teen actress was probably enjoying taking some time out, having had a busy schedule on  her hands of late.
Over the summer she was spotted regularly on the fashion network, attending Paris and London Fashion Weeks to name a few.
