Saoirse Ronan joins Kevin Macdonald’s How I Live Now

The Atonement star to play a World War III evacuee in new adaptation of Meg Rosoff’s young adult novel, 
After taking on the high profile lead in Andrew Niccol’s The Host, based on the sci-fi novel by Stephenie Meyer, is set to join another young adult fiction adaptation, Meg Rosoff’s How I Live Now.

Set during a dystopian future (the trend which has replaced vampires in modern young adult literature), How I Live Now is the story of World War III evacuee, Daisy [Ronan]. Struggling to adapt to live in the English countryside after growing up in New York, Daisy encounters more serious battles when enemy forces invade England.
The director of The Last King of Scotland (coincidentally, the film which shot Ronan’s Atonement co-star James McAvoy to the attention of Hollywood), , will helm the project, which is currently in pre-production.
