Screenwriters hired for Top Gun sequel

Top Gun
Breath-taking news: Top Gun director Tony Scott will be turning and returning to some secret place inside for Top Gun 2 now a script has been commissioned
Top Gun director Tony Scott has been chatting about returning to his 1986 film for a while now, and it seems he wasn’t just shooting the breeze. Two script-writers, Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, both of whom contributed to the Thor and X-Men: First Class screenplays, have been signed
up to pen a Top Gun sequel.
It’s very early days yet, and there’s no word yet as to whether Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer will be taking their tops off to play some homoerotic volleyball anytime soon (for the purposes of the film anyhow), but if it goes into production, we’d be surprised if Maverick and Iceman at least didn’t pop up for a Wolverine-style cameo.
Scott has told reporters he’s interested in how airborne technology has developed, so it’s likely the new story will be picking up on drone warfare and its likes. We'll bring you more as we have it.
