2011 MTV VMA Music Award Nominees Announced, Katy “Pastry Breasts” Perry Brings her Cupcakes to the Yard

The MTV VMA Music Award Nominees have been announced and, of all music artists, Katy Perry and her pyrotechnic cupcake hoots lead the pack with nine (NINE) nominations.

The Cupcake Empress’s nine nominations include Video of the Year and Best Female Video, for her explosive (just like her pyrotechnic hoots!) hit, “Firework.”  She also got nods for Best Pop Video for “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),” and Best Special Effects for “E.T.” featuring Kanye West.
Just as I shudder when I covet a pair of shoes from Jessica Simpson’s line, I grit my teeth at my love of “E.T.”, but dammit those are some kicky musical stylings.
Singer/Songwriter Adele Laurie Blue Atkins— who deservedly is already a one name artist, Adele—is also widely recognized and hot on Perry’s spiked heels with seven nominations. Her hit, “Rolling in the Deep” from 21, is the best-selling album of 2011 so far. Among her nominations are Video of the Year, Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.  She will be battling Perry for at least three of the nominations.

And it ain’t no party without Kanye West, who also scored seven nominations. Yeezy’s noms include Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Male Video and two shots at Best Collaboration for his Rihanna and Kid Cudi hook-up for “Lights” and his cameo in Perry’s “E.T.”

The first person who chimes in with the "Imma let you finish, but..." line gets a kick to the dick.

Bruno Mars also got some hot and heavy love this year with his four nominations for Video of the Year, Best Pop Video and Best Male Video for “Grenade.”
The 2011 VMAs will be held August 28th at 9 PM EST, but you can start voting for your favorites now.  Check out the full list of nominees in each category below.  I can’t wait to see what they’re all wearing—the VMAs is my favorite red carpet event of the year.  I’m not sure how Lady Gaga is going to outdo her meat dress from the 2010 awards, but the slightly nauseous feeling in my stomach tells me she will, spectacularly.  Maybe a freshly slaughtered lamb shrug with a belt of puppy tails?
Hm.  The mind, it wonders.
